John Peterson

John joined Sophos in 2017. Having successfully built exceptional engineering teams in multiple business units at Sophos, John assumed responsibility for all product development in 2023 as Chief Development Officer. In this role he leads the engineering function for Sophos and is responsible for all aspects of development, architecture, quality, product delivery and operations. He also helps shape the engineering and technology strategy for Sophos. He is passionate about building products that improve security outcomes for customers and partners.

Prior to Sophos, John held multiple engineering leadership positions at Carbonite where he focused on driving innovation and improvements into their core endpoint products, Server Infrastructure and SaaS Platform. Prior to Carbonite, John held multiple engineering roles for Computer Sciences Corporation, Magenic and Axceler Software.
